What are Roles?
Roles in Donut.cx allow businesses to control the access and action of their team members based on their responsibilities and authority levels.
By assigning roles and permissions, businesses can ensure that their team members only have access to the information and features necessary to perform their tasks.
Currently, there are three predefined roles:
Owner - The owner has complete control over the account, including the ability to add and remove team members, update billing information, and manage integrations. The owner can also access all conversations and reports.
Account Admin - The account admin role is designed for team members who need access to most of the account features, but not necessarily all of them. Admins can manage team members, create and manage canned responses, and access reports. Admins cannot access subscription management and chat quota.
Agent - Agents are the primary users of Donut.cx. They have access to customer conversations and can send and receive messages, as well as manage their own profile and settings. Agents cannot access billing or account settings. As an agent, you won’t be able to access integrations, WhatsApp broadcast, automation, analytics/reporting, subscription management, and exception handling.
If the agent wants access to specific features they can reach out to the support team to configure the same.
Why do you need Roles?
Security: Roles and permissions help to secure your application by controlling who has access to sensitive data and features.
Scalability: As your application grows and more users are added, managing access control can become increasingly complex. Using roles and permissions, you can simplify this process and ensure that users have the appropriate level of access.
Customization: Different users have different needs and requirements when it comes to accessing your application. By creating roles and permissions, you can customize the access levels for different users and ensure that they only see the needed features and data.
